We are committed to creating opportunities for Aboriginal people through training, employment and business development. Around 11% of our employees self-identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. More than 50 new indigenous jobs have been created at Maules Creek.
Whitehaven has run an apprenticeship program since 2011. During 2016 Whitehaven’s apprenticeship and trainee scheme won two major awards at this year’s HVTC Excellence Awards.
